police budgets now that covid money has dried up will be exploding in the next year or two

a LOT of cities used their covid ARPA funds to buy cops the neighboring county would pay a transfer officer 16K more a year to come work across the county line with 3-5 years experience

Dane county was more than that for an officer with 8-12 years experience.

there was a billboard in Milwaukee that Fondulac was paying 108K a year for sworn officers with overtime opportunities , the bill board was in Down town MKE just off the I43/94/45 interchange

the academy is full every class almost every cadet has a job before they cross the graduation stage with a lot of them hired and paid to go to academy.
departments are holding seats at academy a year out and hiring to fill those seats
