The government makes rules that block success and lack common sense then they blame everything else for the failures. Look up why we don’t have US mini trucks now not that they would not sell or be more fuel efficient it’s because they don’t fit into the EPA formula standards the government made up.
Yet cowboy Cadillacs, Expeditions and Escalades have been selling nonstop over the years that fit into the same formula. Today we are being pushed to straight EV vehicles that will push out hybrid vehicles so we are forced to use power from a grid that might not be able to supply it. It would seem a duel powered vehicle would make more sense than a single powered one. Last I knew the military uses multi fuel vehicles for practical reasons.
Not sure how the common man could afford a EV to use it over a long period economically. Once that battery goes poof how many average working stiffs have easy access to $15,000 for a new one on hand?
My buddy brags about his Tesla I just smile knowing once the majority of vehicle are dependent on that electric power the tax hammer will drop hard.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Germany, Austria, and Netherlands are lifting restrictions on power stations that use fossil fuels.

On the local news the other morning the Talking Heads were reporting that electric companies in the region are asking people to scale back their electric usage to avoid overloading the grid and losing power.
That should tell anybody with at least a little bit of common sense that plugging a whole bunch of electric vehicles into our current grid simply isn’t going to work.
The current system gets overloaded now because of a couple of days over 90°. What’s going to happen when 100,000 people try to charge their vehicles all at the same time?
Maybe the government is planning on pumping billions and billions more into the system to improve the grid?
Eh...wot?

Only electric F 150s I seen were top of the line trim and very expensive. Seems like the market might favor EV trucks for tradesmen use, such as plumber to electricians. Offer a no frill model.

How do the batteries last in cold climates? I will never own one but have to believe that (just like other batteries) the carge will last less in colder climates...

If I remember correctly they lose 50%, the battery also drains quickly if your towing something. I've also read that the batteries cost around 15 to 20k to replace.

I hate to burst your bubble... Ford makes $1.9 BillionProbably confusing the loss of a billion on EVs. Still, they made a lot of money overall.

Anytime you have a government mandate rules and regs, things will eventually go haywire.

Ford now expects to lose $4.5 billion before interest and taxes on battery-powered cars and trucks in 2023, it said on Thursday, up from an earlier forecast of a $3 billion loss.

As you've shown, the stock price has gone down. But, the fact remains that for made money last quarter and quite a bit of it.
