the thread about Grills earlier in the week got me thinking the burners on my current curb find grill are about done

someone said they had a few Webers purchased off FB and Craig's list I hadn't really though about a used grill market ,but there are quite a few out there.

a little looking on facebook market place I found a Weber in decent shape old enough to be the right side controls 3 burner but not so old that parts should be an issue.

the grates are new SS last year the burners look good and all the flavor bars are in tact with only a few spots of rust
it has the flashlight handle and that is broke and taped , that will get replaced with a wood handle
there are 4 screws in the bottom rotted out but the rest of it is not in bad shape at all for rust

the push button igniter works been years since I had one of those that actually worked

got it home took it apart and pressure washed the parts off

fired it up and let the smoke roll , I am not sure they ever burned the grease off it when done cooking
and I didn't pressure wash much right around the burners not wanting to get them full of water

now that it is ready , time to make supper

seems to be a decent box to work with that I should be able to keep running a while

You dun good! Looks like my Genesis Silver B from 2005. It still burns strong. Yes it's had new grates and just this year new burners. It's always been covered and cleaned yearly. You stole it for $50!

I didn't even use my ethnic heritage to reduce the price that was the asking , paid cash.

Used the same unit to cook my dinner at the cabin tonight- holds heat well and parts are easy to come by- nice find unless they cooked meth on it

well if they were cooking meth on it ,the lady selling it was the healthiest looking meth cooker ever.

I think it may have been a case of mom got new grill or just wanted it out of the garage and kid said if I sell it on FB can I keep the cash and she said sure.

I used to get a new (to me) grill every few years.
When my brother in law decided he needed a new one, I would get the old (2 or 3 year old) one.

the broken plastic handle is replaced with a wooden one some one was thinking when they made those castings

a 1x2 fits perfect as the handle , even had a nice little scrap of decent 1x2 select pine in my truck thanks to the 70% of bin at the HD

cut , drilled and given a once over with a BLO+pinetar I use on tool handles it can get another coat tomorrow.
