Ok I did some searches and couldn’t find an answer. I’ve read and seen adding vegetable oil to bait formulas to increase fatty acid content I think it was and maybe texture. Would corn oil do about the same thing or would attract racoons, deer, and the like more? Does the vegetable oil help with freezing and keeping more of paste texture?

What other oil bases can be used? Just looking at options.

Thank you

I believe it would work just fine. I’ve seen recipes where they use that, too- but I think there are whole lot better options that would appeal on more levels

Not sure what animals you're targeting, but if it's canine, I would go with a sun rendered fish oil.

I'd take what you've read or seen with a block of salt

What are you trying to attract? I don't think it would deter pure carnivores, but I don't think it will have a high attraction for them and would dilute the attractive ingredients.

On the other hand used fry grease is usually highly attractive, so I could be all wet on that theory. You may have to test it yourself and tell us what you find out.

Racoons, coyotes, bobcat, fox would be the different target animals.

Maybe I’ll try some and see.
