Just for the heck of it? Not for me. I just like to look at them. However, did climb a peak over 11,000 in Colorado on a horse once. My nephew and his sons are going climb Leatherman Peak tomorrow, second highest in Idaho, elevation 12,228 feet. Looks like snow still on top of the peak. They climbed Mt. Borah, elevation 12,662 feet last year, highest peak in Idaho.

When I was a kid in Idaho, if there was a high one nearby that was over 10,000 and I was going past to get to a good high lake to fish, I would generally divert and go to the top. Never really kept track of the one's I summited. However, I almost always left a penny under a rock on the highest point. I've asked buddies 50 years later that've summited some Idaho peaks if they ever found a penny up there. Last year, I finally had one guy look at me kinda' funny and say "Yeah!, How'd you know?"

Not like in the movies but I have hiked to the top of a few

I climbed plenty. Even started an avalanche once. I was going down when that happened. Started at my downhill foot.

New Hampshire has 48 ..4,000 + footers to climb. If that’s your thing
It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.
