Just for the heck of it? Not for me. I just like to look at them. However, did climb a peak over 11,000 in Colorado on a horse once. My nephew and his sons are going climb Leatherman Peak tomorrow, second highest in Idaho, elevation 12,228 feet. Looks like snow still on top of the peak. They climbed Mt. Borah, elevation 12,662 feet last year, highest peak in Idaho.

When I was a kid in Idaho, if there was a high one nearby that was over 10,000 and I was going past to get to a good high lake to fish, I would generally divert and go to the top. Never really kept track of the one's I summited. However, I almost always left a penny under a rock on the highest point. I've asked buddies 50 years later that've summited some Idaho peaks if they ever found a penny up there. Last year, I finally had one guy look at me kinda' funny and say "Yeah!, How'd you know?"

Rock climbing…NO

Turkey gobbling up there…YES

Nothing that high, think the most was 7600 so not that impressive. But I did start from about 6000. Not something I really enjoyed. Having to stop every 50-60 yards to catch my breath wasn’t what I consider fun. Even being on top and moving double time to a bird wasn’t fun. Didn’t have to stop as much but it would take a solid few minutes to get enough oxygen to even make a call. Mainly use pot calls now for just that reason, lol.

I climbed plenty. Even started an avalanche once. I was going down when that happened. Started at my downhill foot.

Did some in Colorado during my college days. We were at forestry summer camp for 9 weeks at Pingree Park. We would often go mountain climbing/camping for the weekend. Even took ropes and did some rappelling. Just a bunch of kids looking for some thrills in the high country.

New Hampshire has 48 ..4,000 + footers to climb. If that’s your thing

Used to climb hike and snowboard. My health issues won't let me go like I love to and am used to. Short hikes mainly road hunt now. I miss putting 15 20 miles a day.
