I didn’t take into account the fact that there’s no FHA agent nearby. So do you ship them to the closest warehouse? I don’t know about down there, but shipping costs are nuts here. Guess I’m lucky it’s only an hour drive for me.
It’s still going because there are several not good with Boco’s bottom line end of story checkmate post earlier. I told him to stop beating his head against the wall with this crowd.
I apologize in advance for this but why do northern trappers come south to trap our poor cheap beaver when they can stay up north and catch those high dollar northern beaver. Just asking for a friend..

Checkmate?
That's what I said when my frozen flats sold for the same avgs as most other beaver. And the ones I'm catching now are likely to do the same plus I won't have a tub full of beaver fat to haul off or a wait on a FH auction.
I get what you and Boco are saying about what the value SHOULD be, but it currently ain't so. I know it's frustrating for ya'll. It will correct itself, as Cathryn stated. Then, poor quality will be low priced again....as it once was.

Ahh...you just hit on something I hadn't thought about. Reckon those trappers mix those in with those heavies to get a better price? That could hurt the market.....lol

No I told you flat summer beaver dont have the same underfur as winter beaver when you told me that summer beaver with little to no underfur would sell right along with winters for the same price, and proved it to you 3 different ways-Science from the WFMC,video from a grader and a felter, and prices on graded beaver from the auction house.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Your's may not sell right along with the winter beavs, but mine did recently. I guess GFW hasnt seen the science, that video, or the garment beaver prices at FH. Those prices may not continue much longer, but we'll see.

Really? Are they down there on visiting/staying at a friends/relatives maybe? Those pelts wouldn’t pay the fuel!…lol Here you have to be a Mb resident to get a trappers license.
Boco, if your beaver average $40 at auction, what do you actually pocket?
You have to flesh and dry the pelt. Ship it or drive it to the closest agent. Pay the auction commissions. After that, what do you pocket on said $40 beaver after taking your time and all fees into account? $20?
We have avenues to sell green beaver for more than that here

you lose about 11% on the auction-putting up beaver isn't that difficult-ya it takes time but some of us take pride in putting up their fur-whether its 2 or 3 or 2 or 3 hundred
