A friend of mine was telling me that almond extract works well for a coon lure. Anybody ever try this?

I use it mixed in vaseline in the back of a cubby. Works good on Coon and helps me avoid early Fisher.

It's bitter almond extract. There is a difference.

Years ago in high school I used some of my moms vanilla extract for coon sets. then later sitting in history class all these hot girls sitting next to me were wondering if the cafiteria had served pancakes for breakfast, must of got some on pants. Good thing I wasnt using fox pee. . Always get a laugh when I think about it. sat there and didnt say a word.Try grandma molasses with bacon grease [ kills coons]

anyone would be wasting money if they use extracts anyway. use oils whenever possible.

snaringamerica is right. Extracts are about 90% alcohol and they are derived from the oils.

All I know is Hardcore goes heavy on the almond and is a excellent coon lure, not sure if its burnt almond or bitter almond but the almond smell really slaps ya in the face.

The bottle I have is bitter almond and smells just like Hardcore. I looked and my supplier doesn't carry burnt almond oil. Where do you get the burnt almond oil? Don't want extract but oil.

For those of you who have used the bitter almond oil - are you diluting it or used it as provided? The cost is the same as Hardcore so unless you were diluting it I see no reason not to just buy hardcore.

you probably could cut it with glycerine if you wanted without sacrificing strength.
