Anybody make their own out of aluminum sheet? Or if you use commercial, does anyone use the self adhesive no slip sandpaper material on the metal surface? This would be for coon boxes/buckets.

I just cut some from plastic corrugated signs. Cheap and easy to make and replace as needed.

I had the expand a pan on some of mine. But decided I like the 4 way trigger with l configuration. And never noticed a difference in less catches

I believe in Illinois the regs say no 4 way triggers. I doubt anyone pays attention to that point. And don't ask why they have that rule.

On 120's and 160's I have used, at the suggestion of a member, floral wire attached between the trigger wires with good results. I have not tried it on 220's. Benefit might be that the trigger wires can be bent farther apart and still be tripped by the fine wire being bumped.

Guy on YouTube did something like you’re talking about with 120’s…. Sam wood outdoors is his name. Looks like a good idea but I don’t use coni pans

I think thats an otter avoidance rule. i think some other states with otter restrictions have similar rules.

It could have been an otter avoidance rule way back when otters were re-introduced.

State DNR would now like to increase the otter take. We currently are allowed 5 per season. They are everywhere.

I have never heard of NOT BEING ALLOWED TO USE 4 WAY TRIGGERS?? Please let me know if that is a law??
And just my take but ....skip the "take" on otters, let's get rid of $7.50 cities tag! Other states have free cities tags...why are we paying???

NY has that goofy law in WMU's where otter season is not open.

MChewk,
I believe I read the 4 way trigger note in the regulations several years ago.

I have brought up the $7.50 cost to our friendly game warden here in the past. She did forward to a biologist. The tag is $5.50 with a $2.50 processing fee.

We are living in a state that contains Chicago, what some people refer to as the home of organized crime.
