Just seeing if anyone has any ideas here, my tractor has an aftermarket compressor on it. Have one wire that’s been coming loose from the connector. Went to the parts store and guy had something different but said it would work. This morning before work I cut the old one off and wired up the new one, now my tractor won’t start not sure if it’s just a coincidence or if it’s something I did. This is the original This is the new one Any advice or help would be appreciated

Possible the aftermarket black and green wire positions are switched. Maybe swap the black and green wires and try to start it?

Not sure about the wiring on that thing , but with some cars , if you have a fuseable link wire , you cannot replace it with a normal wire. Will not work. Also the fuseable wire can short internally with no visible damage.
A bit of a long shot perhaps to your application , but worth checking if you have that type of wire.

That white wire looks suspect to me like has been extra hot.

I agree with your Dad, coincidental. Drifter is correct too, white wire has been hot. Your ac clutch could be aged and drawing too much, or maybe a result of the deceased compressor.
For by grace are you saved by faith, and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.
