Well...I'll keep posting about muddy and snakey beaver swamps and some of my other adventures. I don't do Facebook.

i am a lurker, been a member for a long time but rarely sign in but check to see whats new a couple times a day.

I did a write up several years ago on the wilderness forum. It was about my time here in Alaska. It moved to the 3rd 4th page but kept being read. I couldn’t figure out why people were reading it so I had Paul remove it and cancelled my membership. I later rejoined but I am careful what I post.

Before I joined, everything I looked up about trapping on Google would give me a reference to something said on trapperman. Then I would go there and read it. Some of the posts were very old.

I never "log out" but after a day or two I get automatically logged out then it stays that way until I find a thread that I want to comment on. I probably lurk more than I am signed in.

Paul, can you tell on your end how many different people are lurking or is it more of a this many threads were opened by lurkers situation?

Just make the site private of you want to cut down on lurkers. I manage a page on Facebook that was getting all kinds of spam and unwanted comments. Couple clicks later and it’s members only.

Same. Have had people come up call me by my user and real name and tell me they like my posts on Tman. Say cool and ask them who they are on the forum and they'll say they aren't a m member and don't really have a desire to join.

Yea do that ! Then as people pass or move on the site goes away . If only current members can see it how will you add new members? I’m one that shows up because I’m constantly deleting my history/ site information that logs me out I don’t log back in until I want to comment. Not going through the deleting process slows down most PC or phone search engines

It’s easier than you make it sound. Search up the site and have a join button. Answer some questions to show you’re not one of those Antis y’all are so worried about and you’re now a member. Others have mentioned talking to non members at conventions. They know of the site. Now if they want to see the content they join. Pretty simple if you ask me. New people will join.

I’ll add in that once I made Nt hunting stories a members only page the membership requests went up. Way way up. So jbyrd63 don’t worry the site wont die. You’ll only have the right audience of like minded individuals.
