Yes Sir! Agree 100%. I drill a pilot hole for all of my anchors to make it easier to drive but to also avoid unessacary stress on the stake while driving the anchor. Doing this i have still had the issue and it is directly related to the pics posted above.

I’ve used every stake on the market except duckbills. Having moved over and over I changed my stake system based on my soil. The only thing I can drive in the ground here is rebar and superstakes. The ground here laughs at wolf fangs. I’ve never seen any of these superstakes. I don’t doubt they exist and it seems to be another splinter in MTP manufacturing.

I have never paid it any attention, but will now. I thought it strange that my chain always brakes at the farthest link while pulling, it never occurred to me that it might be the anchor. I have no intention of changing, but will inspect and weld any that need it. Thank you for the heads up.

I would prefer to not change myself, as they work good for me when they are properly made stakes. However, having a faulty stake it unacceptable.
