Howdy folks,

Sounds like I may have a half day to kill with the family in/around Orlando soon. Wondering if there's a good beach to pick shark teeth nearby?
One of my favorite childhood memories is picking jars full of them at Myrtle Beach SC.
We stopped at Coco Beach a few years ago but (maybe the tide was wrong?) there was no band of shells/gravel like where we found them in SC plus the beach was filthy and full of partiers LOL.

Not looking for rare trophies or megalodon teeth LOL, I'd just like to give my kids the same treasure hunt adventure I had. Any ideas?

Just happy to be here.

I had the same experience as a child in Myerty beach, shark teeth and sand dollars.

Many years ago we found a lot of sharks teeth at a beach in Venice Florida. A guy even had a booth on the beach to rent out small screens to help find.

Maybe visit a phosphate mine. Great source of fossils in NC. Florida has many phosphate sites.

Um, you do realize that Orlando is over an hour away from the coast don't you? Cocoa Beach is the closest at exactly 60 miles away on the Atlantic side.

My brother spent winters in Florida, first time he visited he had jars full of shark teeth for the kids Caspersen Beach, he said he just pick them up, not sure where that would be located but it’s a thought

While he just walked the tide line and picked them up he said that many people there used a sort of shovel with a strainer on it to dig for them
