We were just in grocery after church and they were selling thick Amish made cherry pies. 7 bucks each. Almost bought one.

Well I guess this will motivate me to plant some Montmercy trees. Had a half dozen trees in the back yard but let that section get wooly and some volunteer black walnut trees did them in. One of my favorite things to do with fresh sour cherries is to make a simple dessert soup from a few handfuls of fruit boiled in a couple cups of water with a cinnamon stick and sugar to taste. Thicken with quick tapioca.
