The interesting thing with rust is I just read that it is present in wet conditions. It's been dry as a bone here, & the 2 plants that have the rust are in an opening where they get a lot of sun.

Blk raspberries are prone to get it. I cut out any shoots that have it. Plants still produce and supposedly ok to eat fruit. I read were there is nothing you can do to get rid of it completly short of destroying the blk raspberries and waiting like 3 years to replant. Copper sulphate may help. Funning how red raspberries and blk. berries dont get it.

Many strains of rust. Some just effect grasses some are extremely specific ie cedar rust that completes its life cycle with quinces. Btw, some varieties of red raspberry are susceptible to rusts. It can be bad some years.
