MJM, that pizza brings back memories. When my wife and I first were married our first house had a stove but the oven didn't work. Well we didn't have two nickels to rub together let alone money for a new stove/oven. So when we wanted pizza I would make pizza in a big skillet on top the stove. Set the heat as low as it would go and put a lid on it. Thanks for the memories!

I have done pizza in a cast iron frying pan for about 30 years. I started doing them in the oven and now do them on the Webber grill with wood sometimes. It gives them a light smoke flavor if you wait until the wood is all burned down to coals.

Yes,,low heat.I spread the dough out on a regular pizza pan.Put a little extra virgin olive oil,,garlic and a dab of butter in the fry pan on low heat.Transfer the rounded out dough into the fry pan,and lightly cook on low heat for just a minute or two.Flip the dough over and put on all your toppings.Cook on low heat with a cover till done to your liking.
