I know this has been covered before but one of my labs got nailed by a skunk last night. I scrubbed him with vinegar then shampooed him. It helped but he still smells.
Anybody have and effective methods for eliminating the stink?
Eh...wot?

Add 1 quart of hydrogen peroxide, 1 cup of baking soda and 1 tbsp. of Dawn dish detergent to the bucket of water... this is what I use on fur. This is the formula I’ve used for years and twice in the last couple months on my Jagd. Mix it up and let it sit on her for a few minutes. Rinse it off and once she’s dry she’s back in the truck with me.

Water molecules actually worsen the smell by spreading it around more. Make the mix and rub it in as best as possible. Then wash it off with cold water. Time will take care of the rest. My husky got sprayed three times this past year. Definitely not fun, especially with an angry wife. Lol

Without water does a Black Lab turn into a Yellow Lab? Well he is a yellow lab, so I can’t answer your question.

Thankfully my black lab was not out with him at the time. Then I’d probably have double trouble.

I use this odor does not come back on damp days Plus since there is no short shelf life like peroxide, you can keep a bottle in your vehicle for quick use on the line.
