I cannot imagine a 140 grain out of the .270 performing much differently. Ethical shots should be as easy as hitting where you aimed WRR.

Thx M!

I've used both 130 & 150 grain bullets out of my .270 and had great results with both. The last factory ammo I bought were Federal's Non Typical Whitetail in 150 gr. soft points.

I use Federal 130 gr trophy bonded tips. Only one in 25 years hasn't exited a whitetail. It took out a 1 1/2" sapling and a shoulder blade and was still against the hide on the back side

I have a Ruger77RL that loves the 130 grain Speer boat tails backed up by 47.5 grains of IMR 4064, I have taken everything in Montana with that load with the exception of a sheep and a goat.

I can't believe that cop put me in the back seat when I clearly called shotgun.

When I get a new rifle I buy a box of 3 or 4 of the locally available loads, usually win, rem, fed, hernady. I don't shoot much past 300 yards so I just buy their bargain offerings.
When I figure out which load groups the best, I buy a couple hundred rounds of it.

My .270 model 70 likes 130gr Winchester power points

All bullets work if you can hit with them

Deer and antelope are two different sized game.

, but Ibelieve bigger is better Ive killed my last 3 deer with my 7mm and 160 accubonds 409, 309, and 110 yards. Each deer traveled under 10 yards before I placed another shoot. to put them down.

A buddy lost ( when found 6 days later the meat was bad) a record book bear. He perfers his clients 220 grain bullet and greater for big black bears
He sells his clients , A once in a lifetime hunt Recordbook game, some guys spend $25,000 on their hunt and are willing to shoot undersized gun and bullets. Maybe its 1:50 or 100,,, but why take that chance.

Salt hunter, sounds like what my uncle said 50 years ago. I am glad I went hunting anyway.
