I dont fish public water, I only fish private lakes. the largest being 110 acres, the smallest, 3-4 acres; I dont have a boat or any of the fancy electronics. I fish the lake as I know it. I map it with a tungsten weight and a 10 inch worm or lizard.
I have no idea if I have a follower that doesnt bite, if i do see them with my polarized lenses then I switch to a smaller bait and most times I do catch them. Nothing I do is complicated. I am trying to pass on what I know to Savells youngest. he is a phenom at 10 years old. he does need some teaching but he picks up on it very quickly and is way out in front of my teaching very quickly;
Jesse is an absolute treasure and a treat to fish with. Typically, I dont fish when he is with me. I will after a certain point but I have learned to keep him close to me. The bass over 6 pounds, I know he isnt strong enough to flip the onto the bank, thats my job and it teaches teamwork. Anything I have, he is welcome to use. He can cast a baitcaster better than most grown men. He doesnt understand the joy I get from having him with me. Yet, some day. He will understand it firsthand. I am just overjoyed that his mom and dad allow him to venture off with me to these fishing holes. I am certain that in time, he will pass on what he has learned.
He’s definitely a well trained young man love to hear you take the time and enjoy it. Savell knows how to raise these kids right with first hand knowledge of the outdoors
Savell and Sheepdog watch those young guys, they will sandbag on ya. I started taking my boy with me when he was 2. Of course at the time, I had to do everything even casting, and then he would reel them in. He learned fast, but I still never actually got to fish for myself for 6 or 8 years. I was having to constantly get his lure out of tree limbs, help land a biggin, etc.
Anyway, he finally gets it all figured out by about age 10 and I start getting lots of time to fish myself, but something went terribly wrong. By then, he could basically out fish me any time and any place! I used to think I was on (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) of a fisherman, turns out I am an even better sire or coach LOL
