Decided to bring my brother along with me while I ran errands. Well we stop at our favorite place to go and browse and well... This kid decided he wants to do his first weapon purchase and him being the walking meme his is what's he buy ? A dang Crossbow laugh well after ok'ing it with dad ( who was laughing hysterically over the phone) he pays for it and as we walk out what doe he see ? A bongo drum crazy proceeds to pick it up turn around and buy it too , had the hole shop cracking up talking out how he was gonna be sitting in the stand playing smooth jazz waiting for hogs to come in laugh

The drumbeat should keep the house awake.

thankfully we don't have any drummers here , bad enough I have an electric bass and guitar player over my head.

I call them and remind them 04:00 is going to come early

Well h s been having an absolute blast with it grin keeps saying " NOW TELL ME THAT ISNT THE BEST $150 IV SPENT ON SOMETHING ! laugh "
But yeah got him a target and some Field points aw Walmart

The shope was really cool and threw in a free cocker and a set of bolts with lumknocks and broadhead off a broken one they they in the back . Said it was the least they could do for doing so much business with them cool but yeah quick YouTube video and he figured out how to (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) it and everything
[Linked Image]
We bullied dad into shooting it at 15 just because and as usual he was trying no to show how much fun he was having lol. Shot it went " DANG ! might need to get one blush" then the second he noticed us grinning at him he want back to smirk lol grin
[Linked Image]
But had my tripod in the car got that set up and well
[Linked Image]
Quickly decided 15 wasn't much fun
[Linked Image]
So if course we did the only logical thing to do and pushed it to 45yd
laugh
[Linked Image]

And gotta say these lumknocks are stupid fun grin like tracers but cheaper....kinda
[Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

They also really make finding lost bolts easier
[Linked Image]

Anyhow two hours of fun later we got it pretty decently set up. Dead on at 25yd third aiming point dead on at 45yd

The 20" carbon express polet drivers seem to fly the best in it. The blue ones we got with it seems a lil meh.
But yeah hes already researching shot placements and organ positions on hogs and is about to order more bolts and some broad heads grin said he wants a compound bow now too and a muzzleloader, I just keep creating monsters laugh

Just be sure he keeps his thumb down below string and rail lubed.

Welcome to the crossbow world Wolfie...I'll double chip in on what Providence Farm said. I had a buddy just about take off his finger tips with his crossbow. He spent half a nite in the Grand Junction Colo hospital emergency room... really messed up his elk hunt. Once I was a bit careless and had the string slide over my fingertips very tip... no damage but sure stung, I now always keep my fingers out of that "Triangle" that a cocked crossbow string makes when sliding in a new bolt. And if your ever shooting or carrying a cocked crossbow and hear cracking or funny noises coming from your crossbow limbs, keep clear. I seen a limb blow up after making a few warning sounds. When my doc told me to ditch my regular compound bow or turn it down so low that it was a joke "lobbing" arrows... I tried my first crossbow. Hated them at first. But now I enjoy using them. Even use mine as a cane when my back is hurting and I have a long walk out ! I never shoot with a tri pod... but have several homemade shooting sticks of different length. I do almost all my shooting (cept when in my treestands) setting my butt on the ground... or in a chair in my blind. I can't make out the brand your brother bought. I don't have high dollar crossbows... started with a Barrenett Jackal and now have a couple Killer Instincts. I enjoy your posts and pictures of what your always tinkering with. Stay Safe !!!!

Please tell your father thanks for raising you right. You are more than an inspiration for many of us following what you place on here. It is refreshing to see young men such as you achieve your ambitions. I pray God continues to guide you and lead you and use you in mighty ways.
