Never knew it was "a thing"; have done it my entire life.

People might have to stealth camp in Escabana at the NTA convention. Rooms are booking up fast!

Thankfully Cabelas lets people camp in their parking lots so thats what we do when traveling in the US. Up here we just find a spot and camp. just got back today actually. We were "stealth camping" about a mile from a government campground where they charge 20 bucks a night. Lots of goats up on the mountain behind us....no bears unfortunately.

For years always had people camping on my place never bothered me, but in the last 3 or for years I run them off and post. They just leave trash, potty holes and fires rut fields and roads. No trespassing for the the post part now.

I'd seen a guy doing this in a limited draw area for elk. Rented a U-Haul trailer and outfitted it with bunks and gear. Pulled over on the side of the road camping. Had the appearance of being broke down but he was out punching a tag.

Stealth camping is what the DC sniper and Malvo were doing when they got busted. I would be worried about people like Ted Bundy or the Mid Night strangler coming around?

Check out "boondocking" on youtube. Shawn Boland did a week camp and made videos traveling around with his wife. He lists the places and etc. I thought it was pretty interesting. He swears a lot and isn't for everyone I'm sure.
