Tatiana, okay when it comes to Russian trapping regulations I have no idea. Except I know they must be better than in many States in the USA where trappers are forced to use cage traps.
Regarding building regulations; all I know is what I've heard about the ease of getting building permits in Russia as compared to most places in the USA. Most jurisdictions in the US will fight you and try to prevent you from building on your property.A few years ago I built a house in Washington State, nearly $30,000 of the costs were government related.

Yea, your gun laws do leave a lot to be desired. It sounds like they are similar to the way many of the politicians and the elite would like to make our gun laws.

I'm not interested in moving to Russia. But I don't fault anyone for looking at other places since we've pretty much squandered most of our freedom here... Problem is there really isn't anywhere to go.

I generally hear the same thing, however, there are trade-offs.
Most of the Slavic people I associate with lament the difficulty in doing business here. Back in Ukraine and Russia their lifestyles and lack of government involvement in a persons daily life sounds very similar to what it was here in the 60's and early 70's.

I can hardly think of a Slavic person here who still has their kids in public schools. Two main reasons; poor education, and the school's promotion of evil lifestyles. Apparently Slavic Countries don't have an official government policy to promote perverse lifestyles. I don't mean to even remotely imply that either Russia or Ukraine are bastions of morality; they aren't at all. Those Countries have all sorts of problems; corruption, social malaise, and the huge one, alcoholism.

I suppose the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

Just a side story; I know an older Moldovan couple who lived here in the US for a few years. About three months ago they moved back to Moldova. They are already back in the USA. They said they had forgotten how rude and unfriendly their Countrymen were. They didn't realize how friendly the average American is (clerks, service people, etc.) until they got back to Moldova.
