Well it's 230 AM and I'm awake again like every night. I've had sleep apnea for years tried multiple cpap machines with every configuration of mouth / nose mask, just doesn't work for me. Anybody have anything else that works for them?

Never did anything for me either. Lots of people sing praises for the things. I gave up on CPAP.

Sleep apnea is caused by a swollen tongue. Swollen tongue is often caused by eating a high carb diet. If carbs are reduced, the swollen tongue goes away.

Usually a lot of loud snoring is involved as well.

It took me over 4 years to figure out how to wear the full face mask . I put it on grab the straps for the sides of the mask, wait for it to come on, kinda jiggle them until I get the mask sealed. Lock em down and 5 minutes later I'm asleep. The key is to get it sealed. Once you get the top strap positioned don't mess with it. Also if you find that you take it off at night don't worry about it. You only need about 5 hours with it on to improve your health.

I use mine and love it. Trick is tomget the full mask and get it sealed Comfortably. Like anything once you get used to it and use it your Blood Pressure will go down and you will feel more rested.

Has anyone ever met a person that went to a sleep apnea test and told they were fine and don’t need the machine? I think it is a big crock of crap.

I took the test about 15 years ago because my bad snoring and fatigue. I was told I didn't have sleep apnea. I never had a point where I stopped breathing while sleeping. I think that's the issue, not snoring?

Mine issue is I stop breathing. I have a hard time getting the full-face mask to seal. Yes, I know two people who had sleep study walk away with no issues.

I had to do the test 2 years ago before knee replacement. The guy told me every one has some form of sleep apnea. I tried every one of masks they had. Same as above, I lost more sleep with that machine. For 3 months I didn't get more than a couple hours sleep with that machine. I was tired all the time. Finally gave up on it so I could get some sleep

We had a doctor fishing with us last summer. He was actually a Canadian but has been practicing in the US for three decades. Anyway he helped invent this unit that he says cures sleep apnea. They implant it under the skin much like a pacemaker. Worth looking into maybe?

With my sleep apnea I would wake up Grasping for air. My wife told me I would stop Breathing and she would shake me to wake me up and get me to Breathe. The Machine stopped all of that.

Nose pillow and chin strap and sleep solid all night. No more waking up with a racing heart for over 15 years.

My son uses one, just now in the process of getting a newer small type,,?
His sleep study shocked the techs, I think he stopped breathing about 90-100 times per hour.
He definitely needs to use his, it was scary listening to him while he was "sleeping"

I've tried all the masks it's something I can't get used too, might look into the implant thing someone also mentioned some kind of mouth piece. The wife has been on me about it lately says I stop breathing quite a bit and she's always waking me up

A good friend I grew up with ( one of the best beaver trappers Ive ever known ) died at 42 from sleep apnea so its a serious condition.

Yes, it happens. My first test when I was in my twenties I failed did not meet the standards. Fell asleep while in a conversation with my wife 10 years ago, I went back in, would stop breathing etc, never sleep without mine now.

I got a Cpap a few months ago. I went from an average of 106 apneas an hour to 3.67 apneas an hour. I am on a 16 pressure, 2 away from the max of 18. I wear a nose mask. I am still surprised when I wake up now and several hours has passed.

I don't have any allergy issues at night, because of the slightly warmed, filtered, wet air being blasted through my nose.

The trick to getting the full face mask to seal...is to have it loose...very loose. I have a stash and goatee and have no problems. Best thing I Evah did ...was to get a Cpap machine
