I'm putting wild river trap pans on some 1.5s and I'm seeing a lot more side play than I'm used to.

If I tighten it up more I can eliminate some of the side play but then the pan wont move independently of the bolt.

How much space (if any) should there be between the factory pan posts on the frame and the oversized nuts?

Is there always going to be side play with these pans when using free fall mink tension and I'm stressing over nothing?

Thanks for your help

Your stressing over nothing! You should only need to tighten the machine screw so the nylock nut is fully engaged.

You want a little play in the pan, and to function separate of the machine screw. Once the trap is set, and the dog is applying pressure on the pan, it will hold the pan right where it needs to be until the critter steps on it.
