I just received my new Cabelas credit card as the valid date on the old card was to expire. The brochure that came in the envelope with the new cards indicates that I can get 2% back with Bass Pro and Cabelas purchases and 1% back on all other purchases.

I was sure when I first got my Cabelas card years ago the Club Points that we got back was more that 2% and 1%. Does anyone on here remember if I am correct?

They had better percent rates at certain places also that paid the 2% at Cenex was one I remember. They have 3 levels with added perks but the lowest level was 1% for non sponsored any purchases, it sure seems like it takes a long time to get many points. I have been paying my LP bill and for supplies to rebuild the fur shed and the rewards are less the I expected.

Sign up for the business card, it's 2% on everything.

I had one years ago, I think it was 4% on Cabela's purchases and 1% or 2% on other purchases. It's been at least 15 years since I had a Cabela's card so my memory may not be correct.

There's three different levels. Club classic, silver, and black. Each has different perks.

All of which are a joke anymore. It was a nice deal when the card 1st came out and the business was better run in terms of quality products and prices. I still have the "Black Level" card, but it is pretty much a joke in terms of getting any real reward from it. Customer service has always been good when I have had to call the card company and they do a good job of watching for fraudulent charges, but most good companies do that anymore.

It used to be 1% and 2% on standard, 1% and 3% on silver. 1% and 5% on black Cabelas cards. I was at the black level for years but as others have mentioned when the quality went downhill and pricing got uncompetitive with other sources I went with the Citi double cash 1% on purchases and 1% when I pay my bill. It can be redeemed in cash and doesn’t tie me to just Cabelas

I’ve had a business card with Cabelas for a very long time, yes things have changed.
Worse than the rate changes are your earnings options. Cabelas has become LLBean junior.

My Chase Saphire is doing the most for me, according to my accountant. As for a Cabelas replacement for business I am going to change over to Scheels.

I prefer a card that gives cash back vs points to be used in only 1 store.

Cabelas has one great thing going for it, the 10% off coupons. That's how I spend my Cabelas points, save them until they have what I want in stock and use a coupon and points. It's the only way to get things like Leaupold scopes under retail.
