I’ve caught a few beavers this year with what appears to be a number of ticks located around the mouth area. I don’t remember ever seeing this before and was wondering if anyone else has come across this and knew what it was? I post on trapping only with a picture. Thanks

Yup ticks....spring beaver

I have had some connecticut beaver that were loaded with them, others none. the year we had a ton of snow and ice i caught 2 that had been under the ice for over a month that had patches of ticks on them like fish scales the ticks were so close together.

I'll be durned! Never ever seen a tick on a beaver in Oregon.
