Nice, I am hoping my wife draws a moose tag for this fall. It is a once in a life time tag in ND. I already shot one here.

Congratulations. Looks like an amazing trip.

What are the specs on the rifle the gentlemen is holding in pictude #6? Does it have a red dot? Thanks.

That is my Sako and yes it has an Aimpoint Micro on it. I am a huge fan of red dots. Nothing faster for me.

yukon254, that is awesome!!! Thank for your journey and taking the time to tell the story. I had my chance right out of hogh school to go to alaska and it just didn't work out. I think about how it might have been.

Thanks again.

What a great hunt and what a great blanket you could make with one of those hides. I see them for sale going for upwards of $2,000 US. Woods bison? I read the hides are more plush the the plains bison. Bigger animal as well.

Yes these are woods bison. They are big animals. Fish & Game weighed a bull that went just over 2200 pounds

Congratulations Dave nice buffalo you have there ! I'm a short rib and roast guy the steaks aren't bad at all either !

The places I know of rarely allow archery hunting for buffalo here in Montana anyway .

How far was the snogo ride? Can't imagine the kbd ran the whole way out and back. Did he participate in the hunt?
Did you kill the bear? I'm sure the kbd would be disappointed if you didn't!!

Whether in FL or AK, hunting and fishing is cheaper than buying meat at the store for me.

A friend that has passed, use to truck groceries into Haines Junction and he was always afraid of the brown blobs on the highway at night. He had personal fog lights on his rig and sweared that they saved him many times stopping for a herd on the road= salt lick. His firm lost 5 trucks to those bumps and could not figure why- typical Toronto thinking mentality.
I see that the season has been open for several years now, good for them.

Yes the hides do make interesting floor mats/rugs.
Thanks for the take -a-long-no muscle pain-hunt
