I'm glad some trappers are grinning. Maybe next year...

Who’s bidding? Is China well represented?
I’m assuming the camouflage fur, beaver market is USA. (Pretty sad our only fur market is one we can’t recognize as even fur).
What about the traditional players? Anybody up there?

Glad to see the live bidding in the auction room again.

I think the online bidding before the sale worked well for us trappers, watching the sale you could see the auctioneers calling they had the bid against the room. Increased the price on a fair number of lots. Like the new online accounts and how quickly they are updated, which should be a big plus to trappers after the years of complaining about it. Great to see beaver clear at %100 and some of the lower end stuff went for a decent price, averages should be good.

One sale does not make a fur market and this one had some pent up demand going for it but overall better than expected.

Lets see the next couple to get a feel for beaver long term, trends in the right direction.

Cats today and then they can start emptying the warehouse.

Did get a kick out of Mark Downey selling the beaver, think he was surprised by how many bids they where getting, little quick on the hammer a couple times. It was great to see 5, 10, 15 bids on lots again.

Have had plenty of beaver to trap the last two or three seasons before this past season. None this year. Dang the luck!
Will be interested to see how commercial grade bobcat do.

I'm hearing some of the major castor buyers are already around $30 where it started out at $60 in the beginning the year.

But lest I sound like a whiner...I'm purty dang happy to see the turn around for beaver prices. An industry hat market report I read a few days ago projects strong growth for the next 5 years for fine western hats. Hopefully they're the 100X's pushing that trend.

I told ya 2 months ago the castor market was gonna do that...

And everyone said oh no..oh no...it wont...and look whats happened now.lol

It's gonna hit 20 -25 a pound before it's over.

It's a great Time to buy castor cause once the surplus of castor dries up tha buyers have now it'll go back to prob 50 or so a.pound

IF IDIOTS GREW ON TREES THIS PLACE WOULD BE AN ORCHARD !

The beaver market is active until PETA starts buying up 51% of the hat market. Don't laugh, they did it with Canada Goose Co. And that is why we have now have $3.00 coyotes.

If yote prices stay low, I suspect any use for our commercial tawnies (usually rated as "semi-heavy") will be for cleaned skulls and dried, split tails on ebay. Less time involved for me than skinning, fleshing, and boarding the whole pelt. Rubbed shoulders doesn't affect the price of the skull or tail.

Why is my account only showing that my 2 worst rats sold at 2.30 but nothing shows for all the rest when I was watching live they were selling?

Better money is putting away a barrel of Kentucky whiskey for price return, after a year the nose crowd does not want old castor

I am guessing that only the very best and some of the poorer rats sold. I have a dozen 3xl-2xl rats of various grades and several xl of good grades and a couple better large rats, all of which did not sell. Good to see some higher prices on the better goods but suggest to me not a very deep rat market yet, which is similar to many other species as well.

I wonder how much fur is going to the fur industry. Is this sale like the state association sales are getting, and relying on crafters and trinket buyers? It is a market, but how big a market?

There is interest in rats is what I'm hearing, but not at these prices. Evidently they don't want them that bad.

That peta owns 51% of Canada goose. I can’t find this data upon searching.
