Egg prices have dropped here quite a bit. Currently in the low $2ish range per dozen. I guess the supply chain has just about corrected itself.

What are you seeing in your area ?

Just paid $4.99 for a dozen jumbos. I wonder who the guy is that sizes them. Sounds stressful.

Not sure about grocery store prices, but I sold some the other day for $5/dozen. Guy I sold them to told me the farmers at the market he frequents are at $8/dozen. Those farmers were complaining about feed cost and the companies putting fillers in to bring down cost and how that’s affecting production. Our flock has been free ranging and eating carcasses since the first of the year so our feed has been next to nothing

We have a place that offers $2.99 specials on Double AA grade eggs. I take 2-3 dozen when they offer that special.

There's no comparison between an egg that has set on a shelf and a fresh egg, you can tell by just cracking it.

Before seeing that prices on eggs have fallen, I considered looking into getting some chickens again. Laying hens around here are going for $25-$35 apiece.

We have raised laying hens here for quite a few years. Friends and family get the eggs free as we refuse any money offered. The rest we eat. Nothing beats fresh home raised chicken eggs.
