He's definitely got the legs for power lifting in squats and deadlifts. 50+ years ago I did some competing, but never did that well. It's great to see a kid take an interest in a sport like that and do so well. It's a lot of hard work, you don't get that good overnight. Most kids now days don't have that kind of "stick to it" mentality. If it was my kid, I'd sure be proud. WTG, both of you. Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

His legs are behind his upper body some do to having 2 knee surgeries due to a football injury, but they are coming along. He's 17, 5'11" and 211 but hes on a bulk and will be 195ish this summer. His squat is nothing short of amazing considering his knee problem. Quite a kid you got there. Must be nice to eat ice cream as fast as you want and not have to worry about brain freeze.

A lot of hard work went into getting himself where he is today and it was all on his own, no coaches or anything. He just a month or so ago got the school to start a powerlifting club for him and a couple of his buddies who have been lifting too. He's hoping to set a new school bench press record before he Graduates in May. He's done 3 sets of 345 at the school and the record is 375. He's hoping to 400+ by May.

He took first in Bench Press at 335#,and first in Deadlift at 440#, first over all in his weight class, and third over all of all the competitors there of all weights and ages.
