Free range they can destroy a place not much they wont get into and too stupid to scare off even when you shoot right next to them. I had them once but never again.

Turkeys can be a pain in the but. Chickens are a lot better. But Turkeys can be raised for a lot more meat.

God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

I raised a half a dozen once, I thought they were cool, they free ranged the toms would gobble when I came home and the hens would start cutting, there eggs were as good as chicken eggs, they would hang out around me when I was working around the yard and catch any bugs if I rolled over a log or board.

We have several Royal Palms and 1 Bronze turkey that we have had with our chickens for many years. Haven't seen much difference in them from the chickens other than they do not lay year round.

That almost looks like a Royal Palm- Bourbon Red cross. When we bout our Royal Palms we did straight run and bout twice as many as we needed. Wasn't hard to sell the extra toms when they got old enough to tell what they were.

I didn't know that was a breed until now. Look pretty good for a heritage breed. Ours will draw in the wild toms in the spring.

Sweetgrass turkeys are kind of rare. Ans $10 is a pretty great price. Can't get them cheaper than that from any hatchery.

A sweetgrass turkey is a Royal Palm minus the Narragansett gene.

The ones I had years ago got into everything they picked holes in the siding, destroyed the TV antenna and roosted on the roof racks of the vehicles. I gave them to another guy and he complained about similar issues.

It's normal for turkeys to peck everything to bits. Speaking from years of turkey farming experience.

Turkeys can make you money faster than chickens if you’re selling them, dressed or not. They are dumb. They love tomatoes if you’re a gardener.

Make sure you treat for blackhead if you also keep chickens, it will wipe out you turkeys in a flash, doesn’t bother chickens but they will pass it on

I wasn't aware that there was a treatment for blackhead. But I've never actually raised turkeys since I usually have chickens.
Tell me more about it, please.

Don't let turkeys eat earthworms. That's what I have been taught. That's one way to get blackhead.
