Pinball machines being destroyed during the pinball prohibition. They were banned in NYC as well as other major US cities like Chicago and Los Angeles between the 1940s and 1970s

I wasn't either. I would support doing the same thing with kids cells phones and iPads though.

Same in Milwaukee. They had vice squads that would go out looking for them and articles published in the paper about the perils of the machines. Poverty-stricken kids scrapping a coin here or there to go to the pinball hall.

To be fair though...they were not modern ones with flappers and might require some skill but more of slot machines designed to entice kids.
