The ad was to get the message out there that Jesus has gone through the something's we are right now. The owner of hobby Lobby spent 100 million on the superbowl ad to get the word out.

Ouch! So the left can use it try and shame others into acceptance.

i don't watch the Nazi Football League but if it's an ad i heard a part of it said Jesus was an immigrant. Meaning we should welcome any and all invader's to come destroy what's left of this brain dead country with open arms.

I reread the article and I think you are correct. I was thinking of the census decree. I misread and missed the mention of Jesus in the article.

I think those adds were made to promote the second greatest commandment. I reckon that commandment ain't followed quite as much as it should be.

Perhaps the ads in some way mirror what pastors in America's churches face all day, every day. In 2023.

Does the minister, preacher, pastor present themselves in a missionary approach? The part of Scripture that says, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit" and use their gift(s) to gather more followers as Matthew 28 speaks to?

Or, does that same clergy present themselves as a keeper and a contender for the safe keeping of the faith which Jude (Jude 3) wrote about; "I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints." ?.

As a pastor, I know that these two biblical instructs are not easily done in tandem.
We can be missional in our teaching and preaching and bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people with very little biblical truth... which people say they prefer. (Doesn't sound so judgmental they often say)
Or we can bring the Truth of Scripture and allow God's Word to resonate as it will.

The orthodox theological approach is to contend earnestly for the faith.
The liberal theological approach is to minister to people where they are, as they are.
These two approaches are not exclusive of one another, yet most church leaders "pick one."

Jesus Gets Us?
Of course He does.
The question is.... do we get Him?

I saw it as promoting acceptance of illegal immigrants.

That’s why it was allowed to be televised.

Alot of deep thinkers.

I just took it at face value like most commercials.

To love an illegal immigrant would be to turn them into authorities. To not say anything or ignore their illegality would be an act of hate. Leading them down the path of destruction by them believing lawlessness is okay.

I don’t believe most of them come away with “lawlessness is okay”. The Hispanic community does believe in the root of family and they grow up learning there are consequences for actions.

I don't know HT. If someone ignored ones illegal activity, they would be inclined to ignore theirs. By doing so, now two parties are sent down the path of lawlessness.

Most followers of Christ realize we must submit and honor those who govern us as well as show compassion for the widows, orphans, and aliens among us.
To do that requires the leading of the Spirit at every level in us because all of this can be difficult on the best of days. Impossible in the tough times.

I crafted a project to this effect while in seminary a couple years ago. While I was interning as a hospital chaplain during Covid + a supporting a local ministry effort ministering to people (a lot of folks!) who were being transported to the Dallas refugee center + teaching at at a large metro Dallas church with a very diverse congregation. It struck me that none of us is able to clearly see all of the "big" picture like God can and so it's good to give most of all of it.... over to God. And trust Him. And not me.
