My grandpa was a outdoors man when we was younger and a flea market staple late in his life. While helping my dad go though some of his treasures we found several traps which i am hoping people will be able to help me identify and if possible give a approximate value. I haven't done anything to clean up the pans in an attempt to see if they can be read easier

Trap 1 - Single Coil and from what i can read from the pan is "CHESTER" and maybe PA after that

Trap #2 Victor 2 coil but cannot read anything on the pan

Trap #5 Long spring - Writing on pan isnt legible (any tips on how to clean pan so i can read the text
[Linked Image]

Trap #6 - This Victor seemed to be an oddity to me. Long spring with a coil spring wire that goes over the top along with a wire dog that comes in over the jaws on the opposite side as the long spring and the very tiny rectangular pan

Trap 1 is a Gibbs single coil
Trap 2 you have right it is a Victor #2
Trap 3 is a Triumph they called many of their jump type traps Kangaroos
Trap 4 is a Victor Jump Stoploss for muskrat. The extra bar held the rat so they could not twist out.
Trap 5 is a Triumph. Notice the pinched cross where the pan connects.
Trap 6 is a Victor Rectangular Pan Stoploss with a wire bail to hold the jaws open.
Traps can be cleaned with a brass brush and WD 40 or Liquid Wrench.

Thanks for the quick reply trapper Pete. Are any of these worth more than the others? These will likely get hung up and displayed in the barn/trap shed

Trap Value is a common question and the traps you have posted are all fairly common and not all are in the best condition. To many collectors they would be considered user traps and none are partiularly valuable. The price depends on how much a buyer needs the trap for their collection and how much they can justify paying.

Trap value: They where your grandpa's. They are priceless!
Learn as much as you can about trapping, then try to catch whatever each trap is designed to hold until you have caught something with each one of them.
I did that with the traps I got from my uncle. I smile every time I look at them now.
