What do you think of them for bobcat, coyote and fox?

Insert profound nonsense here

I hope when Southern Snares starts making them again they put the twist link machine chain on them like the larger traps.

The SC 1.75 are really a #2 size trap, and built fairly well...More than enough trap for the furbearers you mentioned.

Not MB strong, but much tougher than Victors, IMO.

A pretty good trap, that won't break the bank.

Thanks for the kind words Mike, first thing is to get rid of the factory twin loop chain & replace with MB #3 straight link, which as you know is excellent stuff, beds easier, self cleans, etc...Then weld up a heavy duty 9/16" split ring washer closed around the baseplate strap, and the first attachment to that is one of JC Conner's rod swivels...Can't say enough about JC's products, he is master at building tough, useful and resilient trapping gear.

I really like the heavy duty Top Dog trap dogs, they have pretty much eliminated bent dogs from coyotes, notice the taper at the end of the dog, these are so thick they will not fit the filed "shortened" pan notch without filing the taper.

2 butterfly swivel bases are welded together to create a durable swivel that doesn't flatten, or stress fracture over time like a single base will.

The total chain and swivel setup is 8" inches long.... No long chains with a stake setup on these traps, but long chain on a drag is fine...These traps are tough, but they ain't Sterling, MB etc, tough.

Also like bending up the jaw tips, didn't do this when the fox was king here, but now the coyote has changed the game.

Hope this helps fellas, the SC 1.75 round pan, regular jaw is a very good, affordable multi species trap...Good steel, American made...I really like them a lot.
