What is the oddest thing you have SUCCESSFULLY used as bait. Just saw a video of a guy using Vicks Vapor Rub for beaver. Never heard of that before.
Why do I carry 10mm? Because shooting twice is just silly.

I used some Halloween candy for raccoons once

The guy who taught me to trap fox used pork cracklins and fox urine in his dirt holes. He caught a pile of fox and that’s all I ever knew him to use Cracklines are hot on Canines. Had an old guy from Glenville that told me that cracklings were like Crack to Canines. He used to hang at conventions with Hal Sullivan

I usually use Chicken Livers or Cracklings for canines. I can tell you that a Gallon of Fox Urine and a box of different lures as well as Castor are NOT acceptable X-Mas gifts at my wifes Family at Christmas. Talk about emptying a Room just open them and try to pass an opened Bottle of a call, lure around in a city slicker Household. My side of the family accepted them hers did not!!!

When I was starting out as a 14 year old kid with no money I made my own bait. 1 carp chopped in half, 1 rabbit chopped in half, three or four duck eggs from the coop smashed, a gopher, and a bullsnake chopped into pieces. Sealed it all up in a bucket and let it rot on top of the shed roof aaaallll summer. When I opened it up it was just a pale green soup with some bits of hair, scales and bones, and it’d make your eyes water just being near the bucket. A friend of mine was about 15 feet downwind when I opened it once, he lost his lunch on the spot! But I caught 12 coyotes and 5 kit fox on it. Heck I might make it again this coming summer lol.
