So, I've been using my buddy's graphs for a while when I'm with him and have been wanting to buy my own since I do want to be able to fish a little bit when he isn't around. I've been looking at Garmin quite a bit. I'm wondering what's your guy's favorite graphs for this. I would prefer to buy used if at all possible. I really do like the one Garmin graph where you can see the fish like it's open water. I have no clue what it's called but one of my other fishing buddy's has it and it looks really nice. I'll include a picture of it and maybe you guys will be able to tell me what it actually is. This is one of the bundles I've been looking at (https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/735506/pn/010-02334-15). Thanks in advance!

The graph you have pictured has livescope view. The graph you linked does not have livescope transducer. It has an ice transducer. Big difference in price unfortunately. frown

Wow!, that's a huge price jump. What would you recommend for a graph or is that one I put a link to still a good one?

A guy about 1.5 hours away has a ( Vexilar FL-20 with glow ring, depth/battery display, and light. Clam case), he wants 450$ for it. The whole rig has about 780$+ retail, is the FL-20 a good flasher?

Another question, is a graph or flasher better for ice fishing? I can't really read a flasher too well, I prefer to look at sonar/graph. Is this something worth even looking at getting a flasher if I'm not going to like it as much?

Also was doing some more research tonight on some more Garmin graphs and found this one. Is this a decent graph, or should I just go for a flasher? I'll be the first guy to say that I know absolutely nothing about ice fishing graphs and just want to find one I can use that is easy to understand and just works. As I said, I prefer sonar/normal graphing.

https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/garmin-striker-vivid-5cv-ice-fishing-bundle-with-gt8hw-if-transducer-and-lead-acid-battery?ds_e=GOOGLE&ds_c=Cabelas%7CShopping%7CSmart%7CCatchAll%7CGeneral%7CNAud%7CHigh%7CNMT&gclid=CjwKCAiA2rOeBhAsEiwA2Pl7QxIdH5OzArxs1zp3ffgsOTrbtwA4ZoIpMBQBkMU-x7taDK2TSx1nKhoCEgMQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

What would the graphing on the far right of this screen be? Is that still livescope or is that one of Garmin's others? If this bundle doesn't come with the required stuff to run this, what would I need to purchase to make it able to do it? Sorry about all the questions but I would rather buy it once and be happy than be unhappy and have to sell or return.

I’ve had an FL 20 for probably 10 + years. What ever year they came out and it’s been great so far. With lots of use. I’ve never ice fish with sonar personally, have several friends that do with no complaints.

My fishing partner uses a flasher but I don't. Had thought about getting one myself but find I catch just as much fish as he does (or doesn't) so have decided against getting one. Just because you know there's fish down there doesn't mean they will bite.

I have been using one of these for years. For less than $200 you can’t beat it for starting out. It’s worked great for me anywhere from 5’ to 150’ of water. It’s on the small side, but that’s go benefits for weight and battery life. If you want to upgrade to live scope in a couple years you can. It’ll also work on a boat or kayak in the summer

Well decided to up this post, thinking I found the perfect graph, and wanted to know if anyone had opinions on it. Here it is.

and

https://www.scheels.com/p/garmin-gt10hn-if-fishing-transducer/75375918894.html

I know it comes with a transducer but it isn't ClearVu ready, and this other one is. Now seeing this, I'm pretty sure this is the one my buddy has since I don't see him spending thousands on Panoptix or Livescope. Any opinions on this? I like it because I can use it for everything and it seems to be a very versatile system. Another plus is that it's a little cheaper.

I always say to get the best that you can afford. A regular flasher will up your catch 20% if you are any kind of fishermen. Thise that say they catch just as much with nothing next to someone with a flasher or graph are flat out lying. An FL-8 will get the job done if that is what you can afford. I've been through most of the different Vexilars and have been running the Garmin Livescope now for two years. Catch rate went way up again because you can see exactly how the fish is responding to your presentation. Just got back from LOW and out fished the other guys by 41 fish. True game changer

Biggest thing I look for in a flasher is target separation. I didn't see it listed. If fishing over mud any flasher is fine get over weeds or brush piles and a good flasher you can see into the structure. That's why I likely won't ever own another Vexilar.

Life sure is tough when you don't learn from the mistakes of others.
