Is it common anywhere else I the country to see people dumping their gut piles and ribcages on the sides of the road or off in the creeks during deer season? That or they shoot a rank hog and do the same. I honestly don't get it. Mabye I'm too lazy but seems like a lot of extra work when you can at the very least just field dress the thing on site instead of driving all over the county with a bucket full of guts. I mean heck you could throw half a deer in you back yard and the buzzards would have it gone here in like two days.... And why in the creek ? I mean geez just seems like a lot of extra work for the sake of extra work and being a dirt bag

Happens a lot around our house. Our season ended towards the beginning of January and a trash bag of deer parts found its way into the middle of a dirt road a couple days ago. It’s lazy and sorry as far as I’m concerned. If you’re gonna do it just drag them into the woods

Yep its common here. I have my own personal dead pit but not much of any deer goes into it. Hoofs, hide and head, guts minus the heart and liver if I'm on my farm. If not the guts stay where I was hunting unless I plan on hunting the same place that day or the next.

There is an "outfitter" that has been doing that here the last couple seasons!

Not around here. Most of the time the rib cage and guts and everything but the head and meat from big game get left right where the animal falls cause nobody is gonna drag a deer a mile and sometimes closer to 15 miles to the nearest road in country like this

Several years back I was checking my line along a local creek... Pulled in to one spot and saw something in the water. Turned out to be a deer. Some worthless excuse for a human being had shot a buck, chopped the skull plate to get the antlers, and chucked it in the creek... It had floated down to where I was checking traps.

Yep...happens down here all deer season. And feral hogs are dumped year-round, too. One of the things I always did, as a game warden, was issue citations, never warnings, for that violation. If I caught someone dumping carcass parts in a stream there wasn't ANY discussion...automatic charge! Over 27 years, I wrote a bunch of citations for this.

Is it legal? If so, then why replicate and whine? What you do is post some trap mod post. Then post some generic post. All in a pattern. Then you post like this, a ridiculous post. You are ridiculous to me and a anti. In today's times, how many grown ups, are doing their level best to get by and feed their families? Maybe your the "dirtbag" that gets a pass???

No respect for the animal-No good.
That sort of behaviour will come back at you in a bad way sometime in life.

In Oklahoma it is illegal to dump a carcass in a waterway or within a 1/2 mile of a dwelling. But it still happens.

And it give hunters a bad name when the carcass parts are dumped in streams or on the public right of ways.

I don’t get dumping ANYTHING in creeks but it happens all the time. Good clean, clear creeks and rivers are something most locals are proud of around here but all too often you see where someone has thrown something off a bridge into the stream. The only thing I can think of is the mentality of those who do it think it will get washed away and out of sight us out in mind. I just don’t get it.

Where are you civilized people supposed to dump your biodegradable waste?

I leave it wherever the critter happens to die. Except with furbearers. I dump them up in the hills off a two track trail, but I at least have the decency to pitch them 20 or 30 yards out into the brush where other recreational users aren’t likely to have to deal with them.

As for in creeks, that is unforgivable. Around here water is scarce and precious, tainting it with a rotting carcass would be a real dirtbag move.

Every year the scuzz buckets toss em beside the road. If it don't matter why not let em stay in THEIR front yard?

Mine go on public land, but here public land is so vast that there are plenty of place to dump them without interfering with other users

Maybe I’m just stuck on the details here, but it seems almost natural to me. I have always been a dumpster guy myself but animals naturally focus on creeks to die to fight fever. I’m sure the river isn’t impacted from a biological standpoint unless it’s too frequent. Don’t drink from the river, but you probably shouldn’t do that for other readons
