It depends on the speed of the crossbow. If I can get a fixed blade to fly good it's a magnus black hornet. Grime reaper for mechanical. I only use fixed blades out of my compound bows.

wife uses rage broadheads in her crossbow. She has recovered every deer she shot for the last 3 season.

Mistake to buy those, they are not finished as a good broadhead, look good in the picture is all, I know, I will not even use the ones I bought, think they went in the steel scrap box.

I tried successfully and not so with mechanicals

I'll hunt with fixed blades from now on.

Started with Rage and then went to a fixed blade and now shooting a Magnus 150 grain buzzcut with bleeder blades.

Personally I believe that mechanicals are just a gimmick to sell something "new and improved" My crossbow shoots broadheads as true as any mechanicals I have tried. It boils down to shot placement no matter what style you choose.
