Post like this remind me why I like to fry up batch big head carp. Side order of zebra mussels sauteed with garlic mustard. Wash it down with nice glass ice cold Creek water.

I read so much hype about walleye. Fished a tournament in Bemidji, MN and we caught a bunch of walleye on accident. Saved the filets and had a big fish fry when we got home. The pan of franks red hot catfish filets was gone way quicker than the walleye. The walleye were good, but with the way you guys talk about them I thought it would be life changing.....hardly.

I was taught as a kid how to properly prepare catfish by my grandpa. I think a lot of people are just naïve on them. You don't know what you don't know

Most fish if cared for and prepared right is pretty good. Most folks can't tell the difference from one kind to another.

I've never been anywhere outside of the SE where people do rabbit hunt. I don't mean shoot one when you see it hopping along, I mean with beagles and trying to kill quantity. Beagle rabbit hunters seem to be a dying breed

I've blind taste tested folks quite a bit and bluecat always beats channels, but might be our water.

I like most kinds of fish but walleye, yellow perch and crappie are about my favorite but catfish prepared and handled properly right there too. When I was a kid I fixed a mess of bullheads and if memory serves me correctly they were better than channel but they just ain't very big.

Yes sir I'm glad you brought up crappie. Nothing better in my book. I went and caught a few one afternoon last week. Need to fry them up this weekend

Agree on the dying out part, but still see quite a few folks running beagles here.

Here's a quick vid Winchester put out about a local rabbit hunting legend a few years back.

I will say this good about Flatheads, a gave Nittany Lion one and some Bluegills to use for Mink bait one year, and he said the greasy Flathead worked better.

I have seen that video before, very very cool. I grew up hunting with beagles and still do. One of my favorite things to do

Gross. You northern folks can have your tiny fish. I'd take a 15lb bluecat over any other fish I've ever ate. Crappie included.

Theyre taking limits of 10-12 lb walleye out of Saginaw Bay as we speak, wouldn't call them tiny. But, I would call them delicious smile
