Was 17 years old. I was out all night drinking and got ran over at work the next day.. Crushed right foot with 47 broken bones.right leg broke in two places. Spent the next nine months in a cast. 83 was a much better year.

I was 22 and working a wilderness line just south of Wood Buffalo park on Athabasca River. Access by river boat or sled.. about 100 mi North of nearest road. Cold winter that year. Prices very high on Lynx, Fisher …and pretty much everything. Food poisoning almost took me out in line cabin.. great adventure overall

Shoveled alot of snow in 1982 , I was 15 and living in Truckee ca

Made some good money keeping roofs from caving in during record snowfall

7 people died that year in an avalanche at Alpine Meadows ski resort ( nextdoor to Squaw Valley , home of the 1960 winter Olympics ) . One gal was found alive , 5 days later , buried under the snow and rubble from a demolished building

First 6 months, on a WestPac, Okinawa and Korea. Back to LeJeune for a couple of months, then Fort Sherman for Jungle Warfare school, then out to 29 stumps for a CAX. '82 was a busy year, and 83 was even more so.

Do you know about the water at Camp Lejeune? (Sorry, couldn't help myself)

Kansasace, you are correct.about Rays truck stop. My buddys family owned the farm just below the hill. A decade before you graduated,Rays used to be our destination for food ,after a night out.
I have lived a couple of miles from there for the last 37 years. Good to hear from an old Stillwater alumni.

I was a junior in high school. Helped on a dairy farm up the road. Had a 67 Ford F150 4x4. Sure wish I still had it. Was trapping creek’s and coon hunting at night.

Folks still live in our house on Indian Trail just up from the old Vincent brass and aluminum warehouse. Actually went fishing with my brother last fall didn’t go to beanies but put in over in Hudson those were fun days hanging out on the river and doing things kids do on a river fish and goof off…

Those "snow plows" aren't really snow plows, they are a huge air compressor mounted on a chassis with the augers directing the snow into the blower which then blows it out over the berm quite a ways.
