That poor thing looks horrible, no sense in eating an obviously sick animal. Why even risk it??

Please do Not eat this one. If you have ever seen a mobile farm slaughter service preformed? They will stun/shoot the animal first <brain>. ASAP they will bleed out the animal. This is a Very important process, blood removal.
This process of blood removal goes back to Biblical Times!! The benefits where probably both physical & spiritual.
Mark June, can you add anything too this practice?
IMHO, you are way better off too eat healthy and processed correctly food!!!

some of the best steaks I ever had came from a 600-700 pound steer that was growing well and hung it's self on a gate after morning feeding and before early afternoon it was single digits that day. It was my neighbors steer. he gutted and hung it head down 3 days to bleed but it didn't much. there was still a lot of blood in the meat.

it certainly isn't ideal but it isn't necessarily a reason to scrap a cow/steer without some other reason also.

when I put one down , yes I bleed it.

just saying it isn't completely nessecary just a best practice

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.
