it does drive home the point was your best lucky once the qualification target is an Appleseed D target https://store.rwvaappleseed.com/page4.htmlthe point is to consistently every time put your rounds in the black with a score of >210 stage 1,2,3 there is 150 total points available stage 4 there is 100 total points available >84% is a pass

I was watching u tube the other day it was a Hornady one they do ,,, there ballistion said that most groups are to small meaning that most people do not shoot round at single group to get accurate reading on cartridge to rifle group size. Please refer to vid for better explaintion ...

Please refer to vid for better explaintion ... are you saying they don't shoot enough rounds to get an accurate group size that the 3 many people shoot isn't enough of a sample size to base a judgment on 3 can be lucky so don't base everything off your best 3 shot group ? can you link to the video?

my dad never shot much for rifle , mostly slug gun
so when he tried some ARs and decided to build a 300 blackout AR pistol to hunt with in a shotgun and pistol only area
he was grinning big time when his first group of 5 after sighting in was under an inch at 100 yards , yes it was from a bench with a good rest.
he is like the 6 million dollar man in cost not necessarily results he is running on a bunch of replaced joints and spinal fusions so he is very recoil sensitive the 300 AR hardly moves just chucks the brass out and loads the next round
doesn't seem like much to some people but he took more bucks with that in a few years than he took in a few decades before
he has headed south already , hurts all these temperature swings we have , he likes it Hot so that the joints don't ache with plenty of sun and fishing.

I was running the trap line one day and as I was going through a field with some patches of walnut and oak trees. I saw the prettiest fox squirrel I have ever seen it was blackish red with white head. Welll i took my Henry 22 out of the gun boot and got him in the scope and this gun will shoot hold for hole at 50 yards. So I got my aim and I shoot and miss yards I missed so in goes another round and you guessed it miss. So the gun holds 15 rounds and I'm down 2. Now the squirrel is trucking it through the trees in the field and I give chase well to make a short story shorter I get off 13 rounds and score 13 misses. I check the scope with the last 2 rounds when I get home and it's dead on so I know for a fact I killed a ghost squirrel 13 times. I don't think anyone can top that kind of shooting even someone from Texas ya'll have a good day.
No matter where you go there you are.

Best I've done was a 4 shot group at 304 yards with a .17_.204. Could cover it with a dime and not see an edge/rip in the target.
swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

Years ago when I used to shoot a lot of black powder we used to shoot an event called Split the Ball. You would shoot at a double bitted ax in an attempt to split your ball and break a cracker that was placed on both sides. We had a shoot off because of a tie between myself and another shooter. We both hit our targets 5 shots in a row Judges finally decided to flip a coin since they had another event scheduled. I asked if I could shoot it when it was in the air but they declined. The other shooter won but was sportsman enough to share his winnings with me....a jug of cherry bomb. The next morning I wished he hadn't been so sportsman like....

Yup....was lucky enough to split the ball..once ..during a competition

rem.700LH 6.5 Gibbs built by Ray Romain (deceased) of Brockport Pa. that is a beast of a rifle , no wonder you shoot deer from 781 yards , you would be plum worn out if you had to carry it up to 281 to plug it like a normal person. very nice shooting, I bet it came from a whole lot of time at the range shooting targets at every distance between and writing down all your data and a good range finder that is what people who make the claims from the other thread don't realize a lot becomes possible with time , equipment and most of all practice and data not sure if you have ever been in the pits when people are shooting from that far away , that deer might well have been laying on the ground dead when the report got there we were behind the 500 berm in the pits with people next to us on the 600 steel we would year the crack , then ding , then what seemed like seconds later a distant report, until they started shooting suppressed then just crack , ding
