from the outlandish accuracy claims thread
not outlandish shooting
what is your best , furthest , how many in the group , could you repeat it
my best is 12 rounds under a dollar bill at the 400 yard line of a competition range I was a little limited on time 4 minutes as everyone else was shooting a qualification , I had already qualified 3 times so they let me do some load testing as long as I didn't interrupt the class. the qualification standard was timed 10 round runs from different positions some with reload some with out times varied by distance target was the same at all distances.
it was all vertical stringing so turn that dollar bill so it is narrow and tall. I might have even done better but I didn't have much for a rear rest and the front was a bipod not even close to bench rest accuracy.
when you think about that everyone's rifle who claims MOA or Sub-MOA should be doing that or better because it is only minute and a half , that load is fairly consistent at about 1.25moa
3 can be luck , 5 is a little less likely , 10 starts to get a decent sample size
I can honestly say I have never made a shot that wasn't totally possible
I have missed a fair share that were me or equipment.
standing one handed pistol 12 inch steel plate at 100 yards I was good for 9 of 10 hits several times in a row but again really not that spectacular of shooting but they people who don't think it is even possible are no small group. when it really isn't much different than putting all your rounds in the black on a 50 foot slow fire target

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

All things considered, back in about 1978 or so with a Thompson Center 54 caliber renegade black powder rifle with open sights, a 100 yard five shot group, all five holes could either be covered by, or touching a 50 cent piece. I had that target for years, it's probably still around somewhere.

I have a best shot, and a best group, that I will not share here. Maybe next to a campfire sharing an 'adult beverage' but not here. Y'all are welcome to come see me, I got firewood, and I like cheap Scotch. Charlie

With ditigal video ...anything is possible Guys have been shooting aspirin out of the air with a bow since before that was invented. Now I could not see that small of a target in the air but some guys can and they can hit it consistently. Just like Jerry shooting a recover reloading and emptying it again hitting his targets faster than guys can empty a semi auto. Some people can jump high, run fast, throw a ball with speed and accuracy. Many that could never dream they can preform at that level becust they are few and far between. But they are out there.
