I am sure I could catch a cat or fisher on my bone pile right now behind the house. They were hitting it daily before season but I am not even willing to walk back there in this weather. Come on Rob! I'm out cutting the brush off from my logging road today. It's not too bad out here!! I have walked to the garage 4 times and the mailbox once. That is enough for me today!
I have nothing clever to put here.

The fella behind that narrative still sends a letter to the editor ( Outdoor News) every year trying to rid the woods of the 220. I remember his name but it not my right to post it here. I know the same guy and bought out all his traps! He had a pile of them and I gave a fellow member one of his #14 jumps with his trap tag from CO still attached.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I am perfectly content being in the house right now listening to the trees snap off and the wind trying to blow my roof into Wisconsin.
I have nothing clever to put here.

I had a couple dozen of his traps too. I'm sure if I dig around enough I may still have a tag or 2

You did not get them all from J.R., since I bought a 4 1/2 Newhouse from him a few years ago complete with chain, clip and drag. He brought about 4 or 5 with him, but I only wanted one at the time. He just posted this morning on a local community forum about the first incidental catch being brought to his attention this year.

A lot of the houndsmen were feeling left out because there wasn't snow for the beginning of the season. With deeper snow the cats tree very fast. They pushed hard to get the season dates moved a few years ago.
Ran into a non resident hound hunter on Wednesday. He said he's giving up for the year, his dogs can't handle the snow.

MNMAN, you are correct. I believe I spent about $2500 when I was at his house and couldn't afford the 4 1/2's. I do remember that the day that worked for me to meet him was February 14th and the ex was NOT happy about it! It all worked out in the end.
I have nothing clever to put here.

You're right hammer I'm not trapping this year. Have every year since the season moved, driving a 80 mile round trip to check traps. I have more than enough tanned fisher in my collection don't need anymore. What I would like is a nice prime marten, I'm not going to make the 200 mile round trip for that this year, maybe next.
You ever heard the saying watch your own bobber. I drove 200 miles to trap and a couple years ago got caught in blizzard pileup on 35 E Deep snow basically made this a no season by all reports .A lost season is one less to experience. So your tanned fisher is a reason to accept the late season? I doubt you have to even watch your bobber.

Suck it up buttercup. We get a little weather and people want the season changed. Want to do good - get the DNR to get rid of the ridiculous daily check on snares Now we're talking sense.

I know his name too but I wouldn’t post it either he doesn’t deserve the attention. He started all that because of his own stupidity.

Want to do good - get the DNR to get rid of the ridiculous daily check on snares I prefer to catch stuff but maybe walking in three feet of snow and not is better? You’ll always have weather but the later generally worse. Dailey check ain’t going anywhere unfortunately.

Not sure what you mean by that, I have no one else watching my bobber. My point was mind you're own business. Witch years I trap is my business not yours. Do you also prefer your hides to be blue?
Help yourself.
