Has anyone ever chopped off the back half of a suburban body to convert it to essentially a crew cab shortbox? I know some may say it would be easier to just buy a truck but the engine and transmission in the 94 suburban are newer replacement and relatively low miles.

My dad took his time and converted a 1952 Hudson this way.
He was a body shop tech. so it came natural for him.
I am told it is in a private collection in Colorado now.

Aren't they the same frame as the trucks? If so you could probably body swap and have a factory looking rig instead of a Frankenstein garage special

My father-in law converted a 91 Chevy Blazer into a pick'em up truck. I Think he cut the cab at the top of the window post then straight across the middle of the floor board. Same process with your extra cab then welded pickup cab back to the remaining existing cab. Sounds simple!! At least for someone how done body work for 58 years. I drove that truck for a few years until I dead centered a 9 point buck doing 65 mph lol.
