Still unbelievably dry here in the thumb of Michigan. Drain ditches and creeks dry in December, I have not seen this in my lifetime.

But I was able to explore the concrete structure near my driveway under M25. Never could walk in from the upstream and feel safe to do so. I knew the concrete erosion structure was there just from looking at it from the outlet side. Still not close enough to really see as the outlet is eroded really deep. It is dry now and the drop is about 15’ . When flowing fast he water must hit the wall. I thought some find the pictures interesting.

I found a structure similar to that one when they drained the flowage by my cabin to fix the dam- my dad remembered that area when it was a river and not, yet a flowage and he said it was a dynamite house where dynamite was stored on the riverbank and sold at the local hardware store for .25 a stick.

Mac, for the record Michigan's thumb is straight east of Lacrosse. Upper Michigan's snowfall is very different than ours.
