I didn't think I'd make it out for Fisher this year....I was bad Sick for almost 10 days. 4 hours at walk in clinic 3 days ago and All 6 tests and EKG were Negative. So on prednisone and a prescription cough caplet now

I Took 2.5 hours to bust and winch my way back to the pines and Swamp tonight. I only got 3 box sets out but more tomorrow since the trail is busted. Wish I had a running sled

Hopefully you just put the boxes out without setting the traps.

I only got 6 boxes out today. Too much snow to get to my good spots. I have a spot I'll check out tomorrow that was full if fisher last year. With this new snow, any tracks will be fresh!

I hope you connect 20scout. Conditions are tough.
I got 8 sets set up. I also might check out one other spot tomorrow.

Thanks Scott. Hope you have good luck connecting.
Temps dropped last night and -6° with windchill making it feel like-22°. Maybe this cold snap will get critters moving. Good luck everyone!

The cold did help the critters to get hungry and move some. I finally had a red fox show up on my bait last night after 4 days of no pictures on it whatsoever.

Just got back from my short line. A big goose egg as far as fishers but did manage to snag a small male coyote in a snare I just put out yesterday. I hope to get back out after lunch and put out a few more sets.

We had a first. We saw a marten run across the trail, made a set and had it later that day. We also SAW 2 cats so we have high hopes for tomorrow. Between yesterday and today we have about 35 set’s plugged in for cats, fisher and marten.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Zilch for my short line today

Went down the State forest rd . To check out some private land I can trap attached and ran into a guy in a 2 wheel drive SUV Stuck in front over me...after going home and getting gear I went
back to help him. He had gotten moving and was really stuck another
mi le back in.

I found that out from 3 snowmobilers who passed him ...didn't
help but left . 45 min later - digging out me with a grain
shovel and he with a bayonet ....I drove/ rocked his car...he tried pushing.
Got it turned West and as he drove off I turned around my
Jeep and followed him out .
I wasn't able to pound in any more Sets. Sucks to lose a day on a short fisher season.

35 sets sounds good.
Leave em work for about 5 days and you will have a good haul.

Usually have 50+ cat sets out by now. I have 38. A lot of my usual spots are decimated by the snow. The tag alders have snapped at their base and are laying flat due to the weight if the ice and snow.

Scott, I assume Chengwatana? I got stuck leaving there 2 years ago trapping beaver under ice. Was coming up through the field at the entrance and a guy wouldn't pull to the side and my truck and trailer bottomed out in the snow, luckily he turned back to help pull me out.

Absolutely the Cheng!

Last year I put My Truck n trailer with wheeler in the deep field ditch , south side. I had to walk to my friend Wayne's house to get help.

I haven't trapped beaver back there for a few years ...prices low and I've just been chasing fisher or otter for fun.
This year though - we'll who knows.
