That just makes the snow on my boots melt and my socks soggy!
The way this new snow is plastered to the brush and trees, your socks aren't going to be the only soggy things that you are wearing!

I have nothing clever to put here.

That is why he is training some new lads, "is it not the phrase-bush beaters- that knock all the snow down with 160 coming up the rear" so he has no fear of snow down his neck....bet he is telling them it is to attract the predators to all the noise

Old habits die hard. If it is somewhere we haven't been before I lead the way. If it is somewhere we have been before, I will be in the back driving the line where I can see them all and account for them. Occupational hazard, I guess.

Well, we are looking at around 14-16 inches of fresh snow up here so far so that will make things a little challenging.

Osky Nope not yet. My dad has a hunting shack near Littlefork. This was his 60th year at deer camp, minus the year that the season was closed. I have been going up to the shack since the late 80s and this fall the grouse were thick along with lots of martin sign and sightings. Good luck to all!

Thanks! That is great info. There were lots of birds here this year too and I threw a 410 in for the kids in case we see a few. We accidentally got them a cat last year so we are going to focus on a Fisher and Marten this year. Conditions are going to be pretty tough but we will give it a shot.

Now remember the rules ...none of this till fur on the table Hope you have lots of solenoids for that plow The Peach is for the "pre-game" on Friday night! That old 3/4 ton got a workout but I managed to get it all pushed into piles. Traveling off road up there is not going to be an option so it will be short lines on foot off the main road. Obviously we will be setting blind as there won't be any sign to set on. With the bitter cold coming it will be interesting to see if they move like crazy or stay holed up.

Too much snow the cats will be in conifers, slash piles and mudkeg.
