Does anyone have a suggestion for a wire gauge or some other small diameter metal for replacement of body-grip triggers? I have replaced numerous full trigger assemblies with aftermarket supplies, now I have a bunch of usable trigger frames/bracket and an ample supply of small nuts/bolts so I am looking for a durable trigger wire.

Thank You for any and all suggestions.

For 330's I I use old wire coathangers-work great.
The secret to less breakage is to twist the trigger wires together from the base either halfway up or the whole way. Some guys will hammer on an aluminum ferrel to do the same.

For 120's i use old bicycle spokes.

In a pinch I've used coat hangers but for durability I would think stainless 12.5-14 ga non annealed.

I have access to miles of used electronic fence wire and had good luck with it. I made a bracket I use to pre bend the triggers to the right shape and carry a few along with on my short line incase I need to replace one.

I used to trap beaver all season so always had several dozen trigger assemblies on hand. One year I used all the 330 size and needed to repair a couple of traps. I looked around the shop and couldn't find a decent replacement. I finally spotted a roll of 12 gauge wire. I cut off enough for a couple of triggers and was in business. When a catch was made the triggers were bent like pretzels, but straightened out a bit and I was back in business. I don't remember how many years I used them, but I never replaced them again.

And use a brass nut & Bolt.

Go to a welding supply shop and ask for 3/32" stainless steel TIG filler wire.
It is perfect in diameter for old trigger frame/brackets.
