Does anyone have much luck with them? I made some for my granddaughter with screened backs and I put expand-a-pans on the 220's

Not much but I LOVE 220s in trails thru the cattails.....coons and then bobcats after the coons are caught.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

As I have said before, We catch them here in MN that way but I would guess for everyone we catch I get 5-10 refusals where they just circle the box.

I have nothing clever to put here.

That's where snares would be very effective, around the 220 box set, in tight spots.

The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

If you guys have trouble with the bobcat committing, like lots of scratch marks on the ground at the frustration from the cat. You have to move the trigger, it has to look like its open and feel like its open to their whiskers. Another thing that will up the percentages slightly is the RGB, highly recommend them. Look at what the rgb 220 did to a bay lynx this morning. In my opinion animals use geometry more than we do in the forest and so the best you can mimic nature the better odds at tricking. I have never found square holes ever, but just as another example look at what I did find.

This hole was made either by nature or an animal, inside seems to be some path but its huge and has water. Never seen it before in all my years, but everything in nature is rounded and not perfect symmetry. Just my opinion though, Im no master bobcat slayer yet.

In Wisconsin, we have to enclose a 220 in a cubby set and recess the trap 15" from the opening- the opening can't be more than 10" H x 10" W. We have a high cat population and release several every year from coyote sets, I have never (and glad) caught a bobcat in this type of cubby set when we're trapping for fisher- as 160 described, tracks right up to it and around it but I would not target a cat with our restrictive opening sizes. Maybe I've been lucky over the years but more productive methods for Wisconsin cat trapping.

Snares in MN would be effective, but unfortunately not very efficient. Once you set a snare around the box set you go from a 3 day check to a daily check. Frustrating.
